Cooking for your neighbour

Last fall I joined Cooks from Home a community based food service which allows us to cook to our hearts content and sell our homemade meals.

Here is an article in our local paper Le Soleil published March 5, 2016.
Cuisine voisine, popoter et.... donner (in French)

Very popular in the Montreal region and growing daily in the "Capitale Nationale", Quebec City.

Since you're a curious bunch, go on the CFH web page, do a search with your postal code and see what comes up. Maybe there are people cooking in your neighbourhood.

You can widden your search up to 15 kilometers. Do a search with a postal code of another city, you never know. If people are cooking it will be up there.

Each week there are different meals offered. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, meat dishes you have several choices. Desserts....... mmmmmmm. I heard that muffins are popular.

It's a great way to get to know your neighbour, to help each other out.

Or if you don't like to cook and want to pop a dish in the microwave when you get home, crash in front of the tv and eat something delicious.

Here are some examples of what I've done since November 2015.

Coconut Energy Balls

Chicken Pot Pie

General Tao Tofu

Tourtière - Quebec traditional dish

Indu flavoured rice with Falafel & Tahini
Sausage and spinach lasagna

Onion Marmelade (with Maple Syrup)

Pizza with homemade crust, homemade tomato sauce

Spaghetti sauce with meat
Kimchi and Cheddar dip

So you see the variety is out there. Spread the word, maybe you're a cook who would be willing to share your talents. Join us!
